PEACE COVENANT | | |
What
would you do if you knew you couldn't fail? "Our
deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful
beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We
ask ourselves: "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? "
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small
doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other
people won't feel insecure around you..... We are all meant to shine, as children
do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not
just in some of us; it's in every one..... And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give others the permission to do the same. As we're liberated
from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others. " Marianne
Williamson - 'A Return To Love' 1992 | "Reiki
ni Rei, Sensei ni Rei, Otagai ni Rei." [
"Bow to the Reiki , bow to your teacher, bow to your fellow students"
] By bowing you
are expressing respect, courtesy, and gratitude to your art, your teacher,
other students, and yourself. Ultimately,
you are acknowledging the 'Blessing' you hold - the 'Light Gift' that is within
each of you - the "Sacred Potential - for Healing, Protection and Spiritual
Development" that is: 'the Reiki Phenomenon' .. | | |
| | | Reiki
is about unconditional love, healing, and acceptance. It is a gentle, powerful
energy that accelerates the bodies natural healing abilities and is complementary
to conventional and holistic wellness services. I offer
sessions in the Usui System of Natural Healing
style in combination with Seichem and intuitive energy work. The Usui System of
Natural Healing and Seichem are transmitted by attunements from healer (teacher)
to student. The experience of Reiki is unique to each person. I work by lightly
placing my hands on or your person or in the aura, causing feelings of deep relaxation
and general well being. When relaxed, it is easier for the body to strengthen
and work on healing itself. I
provide Reiki to all life forms and have many animal clients. | Reiki
(pronounced Ray-Key) is a Japanese word representing Universal Life Energy, the
energy inherent in every living thing. Rei,
means "Higher Power" 'or
God's Wisdom and Ki, is "life
force energy". | | Reiki
is a non-invasive, non-manipulative, laying-on-of-hands in which the practitioner
opens themselves to this healing energy and transmits it to the body of the client. | | A
Reiki Practitioner is a channel for the energy. Undergoing initiation as a Reiki
practitioner takes the treatment to another level, bringing the energy into your
life and creating a continuous healing process for your body, mind and spirit. | | All
beings have the ability to practice Reiki and once attuned has the awareness of
flow forever. The more Reiki is practiced by the Practitioner, the more Reiki
energy flow will be had. | | Reiki
is for all people and all beliefs. The intent is to bring the love of the creative
universal life force (Great Spirit, God, Universal Intelligence) to all for healing. | Reiki
energy comes from the Divine, and is one of the most ancient healing arts known
to humans. It helps us to relax. It helps us access our inner healing power. | | The
more Reiki is practiced by the Practitioner, the more freely Reiki energy will
flow. | | Reiki
is different things to different people. Reiki can be a simple healing technique,
a spiritual path, or a personal empowerment journey, or a combination of the three.
There are many different schools of Reiki, different techniques and, philosophies
which allows Reiki to work well with other healing practices. | A
Reiki session catalyzes the body's natural ability to heal. It is non- manipulative,
non-invasive and non-intrusive. Your body, mind and spirit will use Reiki in whatever
way will best serve your higest good. Healing can occur on any level: physical,
mental, emotional, or spiritual.
Reiki supports your body in functioning
more efficiently and may influence the way food, drink and medications affect
you. If you are on medication and notice any changes, please consult your physician.
Your medical doctor is the only person qualified to make any changes in your medication. | Reiki
acts as a wonderful support for people going through stressful or transformational
times. It is use to help in a range of recovery work, to assist in healing of
acute or chronic ailments, to reduce stress and pain levels. The National Institutes
of Health is among established medical facilities researching its use in clinical
settings. A recent issue of RN Magazine featured Reiki in nursing as its cover
article. HMOs are noticing that people who receive regular Reiki treatments use
less medication with greater results, have begun recommending Reiki for some clients. | Reiki
is not a substitute for qualified medical or professional care. Reiki is instead
a valuable wellness tool providing stress reduction, relaxation, relief from aches,
pain and fatigue, increased love for self and others, and a peaceful restorative
experience that helps to improve health and enhance the quality of life. Reiki
is fast becoming a profoundly useful component of today's blend of western and
complementary therapies. | | Where
Did Reiki Come From? | | This
system of Reiki was born out of the experience and dedication of who, in the late
1800's, began an extensive study of the healing phenomena of history's greatest
acknowledged spiritual leaders. Through travel, study, research and meditation,
he evolved a healing system based on ancient Buddhist teachings. He spent the
rest of his life practicing and teaching this method of natural healing, which
involved attunement to the energy and the laying on of hands. Mikao
Usui | The
Usui System of Natural Healing continues to be taught by Reiki
masters who are trained in the original traditions of Reiki and whose personal
and professional lives are committed to this healing art and the life-style which
it engenders. | | "I
believe there exists One Supreme Being - the Absolute Infinite - a Dynamic Force
that governs the world and universe. It is an unseen spiritual power that vibrates
and all other powers fade into insignificance beside it..... This
power is unfathomable, immeasurable, and being a universal life force, it is incomprehensible
to man. Yet, every single living being is receiving its blessings daily, awake
or asleep. | Different
teachers and masters call Him the Great Spirit; the Universal Life Force; Life
Energy..... I shall call it "Reiki" because I studied under that
expression....." ........HAWAYO TAKATA | | A
few years before Usuis death he initiated a retired naval officer, Dr Chujiro
Hayashi, in the Reiki method and declared him his successor. Hayashi opened a
private clinic in Tokyo where people were trained in Reiki and patients treated.
The Reiki healers worked in groups round the clock and went out to patients
homes for visits. | | Hayashi
left documents, which showed that Reiki finds the cause of the physical symptoms
and fills the body with the required energy and restores the body to wholeness.
Mr Hayashi made changes to the Reiki system and there are some who think that
he developed the 12 hand positions used in Reiki today. | | PHYLIS
LEI FURUMOTO in 1883, was recognized by the Reiki Alliance as the Grand Master
of Reiki. Takata died leaving no successor named.
Through
Takata and the Reiki teachers Furumoto had initiated, Reiki became known in the
Western world. Today, Reiki is known in every country and there are thousands
of Reiki Masters. |
Because ofthe 2nd World War we lost contact to Japan amd its Reik practices. In
the decade since Mrs. Takata passing, Reiki has spread rapidly. It is now practiced
throughout the world. There are now an many thousands of Reiki Masters with hundreds
of thousands of people practicing Reiki throughout the world Today
there is growing variety within the reiki healing method and many schools, particularly
in the west. Some Reiki Masters have formed themselves into organizations such
as The International Association of Reiki Practitioners, The Global Reiki Association,
The International Centre for Reiki Training, The Reiki Alliance, and many others,
while many others work independently. The traditional Reiki systems still exists,
and thanks tothe publications of many including Diane Stien's Essential Reiki:
A Complete Guide to an Ancient Healing Art, William Rand, Walter Lubeck, Frank
Arjava Petter's The Spirit of Reiki, Lubeck and Pette's The Complete
Reiki Handbook, Rainbow Reiki and Reiki Best Practices. Recently
we have been fortunate to have Bronwen and Frans Stiene publish the indispensable
resource The Reiki Sourcebook which provides a clear and up to date look
at the chronological history of Reiki and a look at both Western and Japanese
techniques and practicesas they represent the form and the content of the teachings
in line with the original lineage of Usui and others teaching different techniques,
styles, symbols. Reiki is now
recognized as a global wellness art with many schools of practice. It is important
for all of us to work together and do our best to express the truth that is Reiki
energy and not allow our individual concepts or structures to become a means to
divide the Reiki community. We are local and we are global, and we act as channels
of loving healing energy. It is up to each of us to stay focused on the intent
of Reiki and lead in the way of peace. |
| | THE
FIVE PRINCIPLES OF REIKI | These
can be used as a point for meditation or as a life practice.1. | Just
for today I will give thanks for my many blessings. | 2. | Just
for today I will not worry. |
3. | Just
for today I will not be angry. | 4. | Just
for today I will do my work honestly. | 5. | Just
for today I will be kind to my neighbor and every living thing. |
| | I
have always used my hands to soothe animals. I have offered comfort to everything
from family cats to hummingbirds who accidentally found themselves inside of our
home. On a few occassions some birds have decided to pause just for a moment before
flying away. I always feel blessed when tht happens! Reiki
is for all animals because it is gentle and noninvasive. Reiki is often received
as a comforting pain reducing warmth, often relieving symptoms of discomfort and
stress and powerful results. Animals seem to be very attracted to Reiki's energy
to heal. When working on clients in my home or where there are cats, I am usually
joined by one or more of the cats. I think that animals are perceptive
to Rieki energy in a way that is different from people. Like small children, they
may absorb a lot of energy in a short time. So I always stay open for signs tha
the animal or person has had enough Reiki for the moment. with cats and dogs,
they may take breaks during the session an only want Rieki flowing toward them
from a distance. What if your animal is healthy? Reiki will enhance relaxation
and promote their sense of peace and contentment and their overall well being.
During illness, Reiki is a wonderful complement to other healing methods. The
NIHCAM has shown that Reiki can reduce the effects of chemotherapy and has shown
that it can be supportive in healing from a variety of illnesses. When
animals are in need of transitional care prior to dying, Reiki helps to ease their
movement into death. It provides a powerful, yet very gentle means of giving comfort
and relief from pain and anxiety in life's last moments.
