Women's
Words is an annual celebration and will be followed by an open-mic where readers
are encouraged to share Joyce's poetry, poetry inspired by her, and the works
of other women poets.
Denise Breeden-Ost lives near
Bloomington, and grows vegetables with her husband and young son. She writes poetry,
fiction and essays.
Anne Haines is a longtime Bloomington
resident. Her poems have appeared in many journals both online and in print, including
most recently Barn Owl Review and Best of the Net 2007. Her first chapbook, Breach,
will be out this summer from Finishing Line Press. She is a member of the groups
Five Women Poets and Source: Women Writers, and supports her poetry habit by working
in the IU Libraries.
Joyce B. Adams began producing
poems during breaks in the expected flow of her life and produced poems regularly
for the duration of her life. Joyce was a member of the 5 Women Poets Writing
Workshop and published two chapbooks of her work, Secret Swing and What is Brought
to Light.
Come to enjoy local women's voices, and come to share
your favorite Joyce B. Adams poems and the poetry, stories, music, and songs of
other women writers during the open-mic part of our program.
